Ha! I recently watched that again myself! Crazy shit.
it has been awhile since i have visited the forum.
since the fall of 2013 i've been attending the unitarian universalist congregation in chandler, az.
i became a member in 2015. this past september i gave the sermon.
Putting those years spent in the "Theocratic Ministry School" to good use!
i heard that jj abrams has finished the screenplay and they'll be starting to shoot the final episode soon.. so where will the story go?.
han solo is dead, snoke is dead, leia can only have a very limited role at best because carrie fisher unfortunately died .... plus, rey has already defeated the main villain once before, in her first lightsaber fight (in the force awakens, because 'ovaries!
', i guess xd).. and she saved his ass against snoke's elite guards (in the last jedi) - so it will be difficult to film any kind of dramatic tension between rey and kylo ren.. i won't be seeing this film in the cinema or buying it on dvd but i am kinda curious how things will pan out .... what do you think?.
In reply to the topic title: Make a shit-ton of money?
i resigned from the jw's in my 20's over 30 years ago, i was immediately shunned by my entire family and it's remained that way with a few exceptions ever since.
one of those exceptions was being contacted by a cousin a few years back and during that conversation i discovered that my mother had been and still was the prime mover in my complete and continuing shunning.
i then used what contacts i had left to confirm it.
I would do the exact same thing. I would tell them they need to put more trust in Jehovah and less in Satanic riches.
i have been invited to speak at an international cultic studies association workshop this fall.
i could use your help in focusing on my presentation subject.. these workshops are for former members of any cult or other high-control, authoritarian group, not just jehovah's witnesses.
last year, i spoke at one of their larger conferences in europe.
Great to hear everything went well. Good job!
this manipulative new caleb and sophia video has got me so angry!!.
the level of cultiness has just gone to a whole new level!.

Nice catch BETTERDAZE!
I wonder if someone snuck that in there. . . .
i spent a considerable length of time living and working in america (would love to imigrate one day).. almost everyone i worked with and made friends with carried a concealed firearm of somesort.
i found this pretty interesting and as an avid firearm fan even more so.. so to our american members here... .
as a jw did you or did you know any practising dubs who carried or if not had firearms for home defence?
If you/someone you knew carried a firearm, did they carry the firearm to conventions or meetings?
I know someone who puts a handgun in his bookbag for meetings and FS. However, he lives in South Carolina where doing so isn't out of the ordinary. This wouldn't fly in NJ.
i like a nice steak but cooking one can be a little intimidating and the results hit and miss especially when it comes to getting the right temperature so getting it wrong can be an expensive mistake.
can anyone do that "finger and thumb together to check the doneness" thing?
i can't .... so i came across this cooking technique called "sous vide" which cooks food (in a sealed vacuum bag) in a warm water bath, even steak.
@SIMON: Thanks for letting us know about your experience/sous-vide gear!
Been thinking of trying this for awhile. Had an AMAZING piece of halibut cooked sous vide this summer. Melts in your mouth. . . .
i asked the question on quora: .
if the governing body abandoned the 1914 teaching, would you leave jehovah's witnesses or you would remain a member regardless?.

I would remain with Jehovah’s Witnesses, because I appreciate being in a religion that changes a belief when they realize that it’s wrong. - Sam Thorne
I hope Sam "appreciates" that he is in a religion that kicks you to the curb when you realize that their beliefs are wrong and that they haven't bothered to change them for decades.
i have never seen this country so divided.
something is going to give.
they is such a lack of recognition for the law.
You know, when someone says "Oh man, the country is so divided now!" I really have to wonder: How do you know this?
Did you interview the entire country yourself?
Honestly, I think most of the "this country is more divided than ever" has more to do with the media -- ALL media: liberal, conservative, mainstream, underground/alternative, whatever -- than anything else.
I am just not seeing -- in real life -- the kind of division described by any of these media entities.
